Rick Hiemstra, Director of Research at The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, highlights this critical issue. Writing in Faith Today, he states, “Evangelical churches are at the leading edge of a generational pastoral shortage.” He estimates that Canadian evangelicalism requires 625 new pastors annually for the next 12 years just to replace retiring clergy. This figure doesn’t even account for planting new churches or serving Canada’s growing urban population.
This crisis calls for bold action—and that’s why we created Accelerate College.

College?
Accelerate College is a unique solution to train and equip the next generation of pastors and church leaders. By partnering with Rocky Mountain College and their innovative Pathways distributive learning model, we offer apprentices:
A Faster Track: Earn a fully accredited Bachelor of Arts degree in just 30 months (2.5 years).
Lower Costs: Affordable tuition compared to traditional Bible colleges.
Hands-On Experience: Apprentices learn by doing, paired with a seasoned pastor-coach in their local church.
Apprenticeship-Based Learning
We believe that to learn how to pastor, you need to actually pastor. Our apprenticeship model pairs each student with a pastor-coach for guided, on-the-job training in their home church. This means apprentices graduate with both a degree and invaluable real-world pastoral experience.
